The Super Bowl is the big deal in the sports world. If one of your teams is participating, a party is practically required. So you need to serve some fun recipes that will satisfy hearty appetites and still give you time and energy to enjoy the party. Lots of meat and rich dips with potato and tortilla chips are required. And you can even sneak in one 'healthy' recipe. Enjoy your party!
1. BLT Wrap Sandwiches
2. Appley Kielbasa
This excellent recipe cooks in the crockpot so you don't have to worry about it. It takes about 3 minutes to put together and it will make your house smell absolutely fantastic.
3. Guacamole
My guacamole has to be made with ripe avocados, lemon juice, sour cream, and tomatoes. But if you don't like any of those things, leave them out! Except for the avocados, of course. I always serve this with nacho tortilla chips for even more flavor. Yum.
4. Bacon Wrapped Sausages
Well, what could be better than sausages wrapped in bacon and baked in brown sugar and maple syrup? These little gems are delicious and good hot or cold.
5. Sour Cream Onion Dip
This is a variation on the classic combination of sour cream and dry onion soup mix. Mayonnaise and caramelized onions are added for a boost of flavor.
6. Devils on Horseback
These super simple three ingredient appetizers have the most complex flavor. You can use any firm cheese you'd like - Asiago is my personal favorite. Make a double batch of these, because they'll go fast!
7. Fruit with Strawberry Dip
Okay, so this isn't a recipe dripping with bacon and cheese. It's nice to offer one thing that is light and relatively healthy. I say relatively because there is ricotta cheese and heavy cream in this dip. That's why it's so yummy!
8. Crockpot Sweet and Spicy Meatballs
This super easy recipe is so good. I use cocktail sauce instead of chili sauce because I like the flavor better. The horseradish gives it a bit of a kick. You can substitute chili sauce if you'd like.
9. Creamy Buffalo Chicken Dip
This dip is like eating Buffalo Wings but in a much neater form. You can use baby carrots, celery sticks, and bell pepper strips for dippers to add just a tiny smidge of nutrition.
10. New Buffalo Wings
Well, okay, if you have to serve Buffalo Wings, make this version! The chicken breasts are tender and moist and full of flavor after being marinated for hours. And the dip is really wonderful - blue cheese salad dressing, sour cream, mayo, and even more blue cheese. Or would that be 'bleu' cheese?
