Cook the turkey breast in your crockpot only if you know there aren't any high-risk people among your guests (those include pregnant women, the elderly, very small children, and those with chronic health conditions). I cook turkey breast that way, but only because I know my guests don't fall into those categories. Otherwise, roast or grill the turkey.
In the oven, a turkey breast takes 1-1/2 to 2-1/2 hours to roast, about 30 minutes per pound at 325 to 350 degrees F. A stuffed breast will take 30-60 minutes longer, until the meat thermometer reaches 160 degrees F. You can baste it once or twice, but you don't have to. I like to have the skin on the turkey when it's roasted, just because it adds so much to the flavor of the bird and helps keep it moist.
