Stuffed Turkey Breast


Stuffed Turkey Breast is an easy and elegant recipe for a smaller Thanksgiving feast.

Prep Time: 25 minutes

Cook Time: 2 hours, 30 minutes

Total Time: 2 hours, 55 minutes

Yield: Serves 6


  • 4 slices oatmeal bread, dried overnight, cubed
  • 1 Haralson apple, peeled and chopped
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 3 tablespoons chicken broth
  • 1 (4-6 pound) turkey breast, thawed if frozen
  • 2 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 1 cup chicken broth


In large bowl, combine bread cubes, apple, onion, and raisins and toss. Add egg, salt, pepper, 3 tablespoons melted butter, and 3 tablespoons chicken broth and toss to coat. Place in large roasting pan.

Press down on the turkey breast center bone to crack slightly so the breast sits upright naturally. Fit over the stuffing, pushing most of the stuffing inside the breast. Rub outside of turkey with 2 tablespoons softened butter and pour 1 cup chicken broth into pan.

Roast turkey at 350 degrees F for 2-1/2 to 3 hours or until meat thermometer registers 165 degrees F. Cover and let stand 10 minutes, then slice to serve with stuffing.
